Oh did PCTI give in 2016!! Wrapping up the year is always a blast for the students and staff at PCTI. Our last student appreciation of the year left quite the impact on our students. Pastor Paul A. Williams of Lighthouse of Zion Ministries blessed our students with a message of keeping faith, persevering, and hope, followed by Ms. Crissy Poole addressing our Spanish speaking students. Our Spanish
population of students were quite overjoyed as they received holiday blessings in their native tongue. This just goes to show how diverse of an institution PCTI is. Ms. Lourdes Nieves’ husband catered the event, and the food did not disappoint! Bon Appétit!! Several students received certificates and a gift in recognition of their academic achievements as well as attendance. Mr. George Clark, our Head Instructor, and Mrs. Julie Avila were both recognized for their commitment and longevity. Mr. Clark has been with PCTI for 10 years, and Ms. Julie for 5 years.
Of course we had to say goodbye to 2016 in the most compassionate way by giving back to the population that we so extensively serve. Ten staff members from PCTI volunteered at Target Hunger located in Houston’s 5th Ward. Target Hunger is housed right in the heart of 5th Ward inside an old elementary school. With the assistance of several companies and organizations who donate to Target Hunger, the organization is able to feed thousands of families in more than five zip codes on a monthly basis. PCTI desires to continue to be a part of many of our local community organizations by providing educational services to their clientele, so they may pull themselves out of their cyclic situations. As a family, PCTI strives to pay all things forward. So, let’s welcome in the 2017 new year with a bang, as we continue remain to be Houston’s leading technical institution in the North Houston area.
